Tour Synopsis
In 2014, Dakota Crescent was announced to have an expiry date by end 2016 where it would undergo redevelopment. Dakota Adventures was formed – a response of tours to highlight the historical and social significance of Dakota Crescent, co-guided by residents which mostly consisted of seniors in the rental housing. In 2016, we developed an online multimedia project “Between Two Homes” to document the relocation process and in 2017 and subsequently assisted residents as they were being relocated to Cassia Crescent.
Although Dakota Crescent has “expired”, the site presents multiple spectrums of narratives that are significant to the national narratives concerning Singapore in the face of inequality and an ageing population.
